Why do cats need collars?
Every time there's an earthquake or flood, we hear the sad news of cats escaping and never returning. In Japan, where disasters are frequent, this is not just something that happens to other people. We also often hear stories of cats that are usually kept indoors escaping through a slightly open window and getting lost.
What if he wasn't wearing a collar at that time?
Even if someone were to rescue the cat, it would be difficult to return it to its owner. If it were unlucky enough to end up in a shelter, it could be mistaken for a stray cat and end up being euthanized. To protect your beloved cat in an emergency, it needs a sign that it is someone's "important family member."
A collar is proof that your cat is yours. Give your cat a unique collar that will let you know it's your beloved, adorable cat. Onddoka collars are handmade and gentle on your cat's body. Onddoka Collar Features
Cats are very delicate animals. They won't even look at food they don't like, and they are very picky about toys. It's said that many cats don't like collars, let alone clothes.
Even if your pet does manage to wear a collar, if it is too thick and heavy and doesn't fit properly, it may develop bald spots around the collar, which will make your pet dislike wearing the collar even more.
For these cats, we plan and produce products from the following three perspectives. Onddoka's concept is "A gentle life for cats." We always aim to create products from the cat's perspective.
1. Cats are stress-free
Cats have fine fur, so wearing a thick, heavy vinyl or synthetic leather collar can cause the fur to break and leave bald spots. That's why we focused on making collars that are light and comfortable against the skin. We created them with the hope that they would feel natural even when wearing the collar, as if they were not wearing anything at all.

The decorations are kept as simple as possible, with each weighing approximately 3-6g. This is roughly the weight of a single A4 sheet of copy paper. You'll forget you're wearing them.

We use natural cotton and linen fabrics to ensure a gentle feel against the skin.

Utilizing the techniques we have developed for producing women's underwear, our craftsmen carefully handcraft each piece. We use a small amount of extremely thin interfacing and minimize the number of stitching points to prevent stiffness that can cause a feeling of pressure.
2. Safety
Since collars are worn on a daily basis, we also take into consideration safety factors such as the fabric material and buckle.

The outer fabric is made primarily from natural materials that are gentle on cats' bodies. It is hypoallergenic and safe even if your cat puts it in its mouth.

We used a Duraflex cat collar buckle , which releases when a force of about 4kg is applied, so even if the collar gets caught on something, it comes off quickly and safely.
・In-house inspection and shipping from a dedicated warehouse
Once the product is completed, we carefully inspect each and every item to ensure there are no foreign objects inside the fabric or stitching that could cause discomfort. Your item will be shipped directly to you from our dedicated warehouse, where we have a well-established management system.
3. Design
We place importance not only on functionality but also on design. We have a wide range of fabrics available, from plain to patterned. Bells and charms can also be added as an option.

We use a variety of highly designed fabrics , including cute gingham check, sophisticated Liberty, and simple yet nuanced solid colors . The colors are unobtrusive, so they blend in seamlessly with any interior.
Decoration
The ribbons are small, and the buttons and embroidery used to decorate the ruffles are kept to a minimum, with the aim of creating a simple, timeless design.

You can also add a bell as an option. We have prepared a small one that won't cause stress to your cat.
Custom Name Charm
You can create a one-of-a-kind name charm (lost dog tag). It can be attached to any type of collar. It is sold in limited quantities from the 1st to the 3rd of each month. (As of December 2024)

How to put on a collar
When putting on a collar, aim for a gap of about 2-3 fingers. If it's too tight, it will cause stress, and if it's too loose, it may get caught on something and strangle the neck. Also, the size of the collar will change depending on your pet's weight and body type, so be sure to check it daily.

It comes with a small ribbon that won't stress your cat out. If you place the ribbon on the back, it will be even more comfortable.
It has a simple design without any decorations. It is perfect for cats who just don't like collars or for cats who are trying on a collar for the first time.
The collar has a buckle and is designed to be placed over the frill. It is recommended for long-haired breeds as it does not get buried and hair does not get tangled.
The thin cord is attached with a mushroom charm from France. The length can be adjusted by using the knot.
This bib type has a large maximum dimension so that it can be used by large, long-haired cats.
